Alexander Hunziker Steps Up as Zuger Kantonalbank’s New CIO

Zuger Kantonalbank has appointed Alexander Hunziker as its new Chief Investment Officer, effective immediately.

He moves up from deputy CIO, a role in which he has already been closely involved in the bank’s strategic investment leadership.

Hunziker succeeds Alex Müller, who took over as Head of Private Banking at Zuger Kantonalbank in mid-June 2026.

He has worked at the bank since 2021 and has led its Portfolio Management team for Fixed Income and Multi Asset within Wealth Management for the past two years.

As deputy CIO, he contributed to the development of the bank’s investment processes, product offering and investment governance.

“Alexander Hunziker combines strategic thinking with strong technical depth and a clear understanding of our clients’ needs,”

said Marcus Slöör, Head of Wealth Management and a member of the Executive Board at Zuger Kantonalbank.

Hunziker has more than 18 years of experience in capital markets.

Before joining Zuger Kantonalbank, he spent several years as a portfolio manager and analyst in asset management at the Swiss National Bank. He earlier held various roles at Credit Suisse.

He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration and is a Chartered Financial Analyst, Financial Risk Manager and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.
