BancaStato Launches Regulated Crypto Trading via Sygnum Integration

BancaStato has joined Sygnum‘s B2B banking network to launch regulated digital asset services for its clients.

According to the company, the move makes BancaStato the first bank on Avaloq‘s Software-as-a-Service environment to enable clients to buy, hold, and sell crypto via API with Sygnum directly from within its e-banking platforms.

Through the API integration, BancaStato clients can trade Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Solana. Account holders can execute market orders by USD value or asset quantity within their standard digital banking interface.

The bank connected Sygnum’s platform straight to its Avaloq core banking system without deploying a separate order management system.

The setup reduces operational complexity and risks. It simplifies feature development and allows the institution to adjust trading features in line with its risk controls.

Sygnum safeguards client assets through its institutional custody architecture, which uses multi-layer software and hardware controls alongside independent external audits.

The platform keeps all holdings off-balance sheet in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, helping protect client assets in the event of bankruptcy.
